Cake & Other Stories

I’ve been through some big changes in my life and I’ve learned two important things:

1. Change is unavoidable. If you fight it you will suffer.

2. Going through change makes you stronger. The bigger the change the bigger the payoff; the more you’ll learn, grow and understand about life.

Change is scary. Change challenge us to try new things, think about new ideas, do things in new ways, and be a new person. Your comfort zone may be safe but it’s not a place for growth. To experience new adventures we must step out of our comfort zone. Dipp our toes into unknown territory and take a chance with uncertainty.

Sometimes change is unavoidable and hurtful. When it happens your best option is to accept your new reality as soon as possible. If you fight it you will suffer. Fighting change is painful and depressing. It will eat up your energy and leave you bitter. To take back your power; readjust your thinking, readjust your actions and accept the new.

Make a pact with yourself never to let fear of change define you! You are stronger than that. Whatever awaits you; you can get through it. Instead of fighting fear of uncertainty take a leap of faith and welcome the unknown like you would welcome a new friend.

Just like we can’t stop a storm, we can’t stop our lives from changing. When the storm is passing we can choose to hate it, cry about it and get depressed. Or we can decide to accept the situation and make the best of it. How you choose to react to change will affect your future, so react with an open heart❤️
