What negative thoughts are you playing in your mind?
What in your life are you holding on to that causes you pain?
Worries, frustrations, disappointments, and stressful thoughts are very much part of life. It’s called being human. Everyone has negative experiences.
The key is to be mindful about how long you hold on to those negative thoughts and how long you focus on the negative experiences.
Think about them for a little while and nothing drastic happens. Think about them a bit longer and you begin to feel noticeable pain. Think about them all day long or all week, and you will feel completely numb, paralyzed and depressed.
How happy or unhappy you are are directly linked to how long you hold on to negative thoughts, disappointments and toxic people.
If you’ve been struggling to cope with the weight of what’s on your mind, it’s a strong sign that it’s time to let go.
Today, I challenge you to ask yourself:
1. What negative thoughts or disappointing experiences are you currently holding on to in your life?
2. How is it affecting you?
Then imagine that what you’re holding on to doesn’t exist. Envision yourself letting go… who would you be without holding on to this pain?
How would letting go change your situation?
What would you be able to do differently?
